All 18 Democratic House of Delegates Battleground Candidates Outraise Republicans In Hard Cash Donations
RICHMOND, VA — Today, the Virginia House Democratic Caucus announced record-breaking fundraising totals from its 18 battleground candidates, underscoring the momentum building ahead of November. In all 18 battleground districts Democrats raised more cash than their opponents and in 17 out of 18 districts they outraised their opponents when in-kind donations were included. Together, the 18 candidates raised over $5 million in today’s filing—nearly double their Republican opponents—and head into the fall with nearly $3 million cash-on-hand.
“Today we’re putting Republicans on notice. In everyone of our 18 battleground races, Democrats outraised their opponents, and we’re out-hustling them at every turn,” said Speaker Don Scott. “These record-breaking numbers show that while Republicans peddle chaos and rollbacks, we’re building the resources to protect freedoms, strengthen our economy, and keep Virginia moving forward. One thing is clear: Democrats have the momentum and the message to expand our majority this November.”
House Democrats outraised Republicans in 70 out of 100 districts, reflecting the strength of their message and the broad coalition of Virginians ready to reject the extreme Republican agenda.
“Outraising Republicans in 70 districts isn’t just a statistic — it’s proof that Virginians trust Democrats to deliver results,” said Del. Dan Helmer, Campaigns Chair. “These record-breaking numbers show that people are fueling our campaigns because they know we’re fighting for reproductive freedom, good-paying jobs, and stronger schools. With this kind of grassroots energy behind us, Republicans can’t buy back the trust they’ve lost — and that’s why we’ll win in November.”
With less than 50 days until Election Day, Democrats are building on unprecedented momentum and entering the final stretch with the resources, organization, and grassroots enthusiasm needed to secure victory.
