RICHMOND, VA — Today, Virginia House Democrats passed HB1207 to establish statewide Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML). The program enables Virginians to care for themselves and loved ones without foregoing paychecks or quality of work.
“Paid family and medical leave is commonsense policy that will strengthen Virginia’s economy and support Virginia families,” said Delegate Briana Sewell, Chief Patron of HB1207. “Virginians deserve policies that reflect our values – dignity, fairness, and the belief that no one should be left behind when they need help the most. This bill prevents individuals from making the impossible choices between their livelihoods and their loved ones and builds an Affordable Virginia for all working Virginians.”
