RICHMOND, VA—Virginia House Democratic Majority Leader Charniele Herring and House Democratic Chair Rip Sullivan released the following response to House Republicans breaking a 50-year precedent and obstructing the extension of the legislative session to 45 days:
“While Virginians are hurting during this economic and public health crisis, House Republicans want to do the bare minimum. This is a time when our elected leaders should be working overtime, not looking to cut out early. The House Democratic majority will deliver for our Commonwealth during this difficult time and if our Republican colleagues have something better to do, they can stand aside.”
