RICHMOND, VA—Today, the House of Delegates passed Delegate Lamont Bagby’s HB 2333, emergency legislation intended to expand the capacity of vaccination distribution efforts in anticipation of increased supply of the COVID-19 vaccine from the federal government in the coming weeks and months.
Following the vote, House Democratic Majority Leader Charniele Herring and House Democratic Caucus Chair Rip Sullivan released the following statement:
“In passing HB 2333, House Democrats have taken proactive measures to make sure the vaccine rollout runs as efficiently as possible once Washington sends us the necessary supply of the vaccine. With the recent announcement from the Biden Administration of increases to the number of vaccine doses being sent to states, we are laying the groundwork to ensure vaccination efforts are able to run efficiently and equitably.
“It is important to remember that in this fog of uncertainty, we can only move forward when we work together. We applaud Delegate Bagby’s leadership and thank him for his hard work and dedication to the people of Virginia.”
