RICHMOND, VA – Yesterday, Governor Abigail Spanberger signed four bills introduced by Virginia House Democrats to enable workforce growth throughout the Commonwealth. Through investing nearly $10 billion, four companies that define Virginia’s workforce will be able to create 3,000 new jobs – providing opportunity for hardworking Virginians and creating a stable business environment.
“Virginia is home to some of the country’s most essential businesses,” said Chairman Luke Torian, Patron of HB1531, HB799, and HB800. “By investing in the top companies that make up Virginia’s workforce, we are not only creating jobs but also advancing defense technology, boosting the electrical grid, and producing life-saving drugs.
“The bills signed by Governor Spanberger yesterday not only create a foundation for businesses to thrive and more Virginians to gain employment – it also sends a message that Virginia is the best state to do business,” said Delegate Amy Laufer, Patron of HB1076. “By investing in our workforce now, we are ensuring economic growth for years to come.”
Governor Spanberger signed the following bills into law:
- HB1531 (Delegate Luke Torian) — Avio USA will invest more than $537 million and create more than 1,500 jobs in Pittsylvania, building solid rocket motors for the defense, tactile propulsion, missile systems, and commercial space sectors. Passed with bipartisan support.
