Richmond, VA — Next week, the Virginia House Democratic Caucus will launch its “Standing Up for Virginia” tour — a series of town halls across the Commonwealth, including in red-leaning and rural districts where Republicans are too terrified of Donald Trump to stand up for their own constituents.
The first two events will kick off in Petersburg and Moseley with Speaker Don Scott, Senator and DPVA Chair Lamont Bagby, Senator Lashrecse Aird, Delegate Dan Helmer, and House of Delegates candidates Kimberly Pope Adams (HD-82) and Leslie Mehta (HD-73).
While GOP leaders run from tough questions, Democrats are leaning in: showing up, listening, and taking them head-on.
The tour highlights Virginia’s role as a national bellwether and an early test of how voters are responding to Trumpism ahead of 2026.
The first two town halls will feature:
Tuesday, August 26, 2025 | 6:00 PM | Petersburg, VA
- Speaker Don Scott
- Sen. Lashrecse Aird
