RICHMOND, Va.—Yesterday, the Virginia House Democratic Caucus reported that they raised $2,074,036 during the second quarter of fundraising, which sets a new caucus record for Q2 fundraising. As of July 1, 2021, the Caucus has $1,351,144 cash on hand. In total, $2,729,348 has been raised by the Caucus this year.
This number illustrates how House Democrats have continued to build on the momentum from the first quarter where they raised $655,312, even after the Caucus pledged not to fundraise during the special session that extended the 2021 Regular Legislative Session.
Jaime Reimers, the House Democratic Caucus Executive Director, released the following statement in response:
“The House Democratic Caucus’ fundraising success is a direct result of the enthusiasm generated by our effectiveness in the majority. Our members have worked hard to build a better Virginia and improve lives across the Commonwealth — and Virginians want to keep that momentum going by making sure Democrats stay in the driver’s seat.”
