Today, Virginia House Democrats took a historic step to secure reproductive rights by passing House Bill 6 (HB6), which codifies the right to contraception and protects Virginians’ ability to access birth control and make personal medical decisions without government interference.
“With the passage of HB6, we are sending a clear message: decisions about contraception belong to individuals – not politicians,” said Delegate Marcia “Cia” Price, Patron of HB6. “This bill affirms a fundamental right, protects access to essential reproductive healthcare, and ensures Virginians can make deeply personal decisions about their bodies without fear of government intrusion.”
